Spooky spuds

On the run up to Halloween we think these purple majesty potatoes are just the ticket. Not only do the have the “look” they pack a nutritional punch with nine times more anti oxidants than a standard potato!

Blood tests on people who have eaten the potatoes found the health benefits were retained throughout the cooking process.

The potatoes have a deep purple skin and flesh  and originate from Colorado university but trials have discovered they can be grown in the UK.

They went on to Sainsbury’s shelves last week and are set to take the UK by storm.

So watch out you could soon be having fish and purple chips… Yum Yum.
